This year I have already been over the country and then some. I’ve been to Key West, Death Valley, Las Vegas, Iowa, Wisconsin, and I plan on going many more places.
In January, my goal was to go to the Northern Mariana Islands for New Years, but that didn’t work out. Instead I flew into Ft. Lauderdale and drove to Key West.
I had to wait two whole months until spring break before I was able to go on another trip. I flew into Vegas and that was an adventure in itself. Let’s just say that I watched the sun rise and set in the Salt Lake City airport. Fun times.
I finally made it to Vegas and literally crashed on the glorious king bed in my hotel. I spent a day walking The Strip with my friends being a complete tourist. It sucked, but it was fun doing stuff with my friends.
Later that night we met up with the group of students and the next day we were on the road to Death Valley.
After Death Valley I had about two weeks before going on another geology trip to southern Minnesota, a sliver of Wisconsin, and northern Iowa looking at fossils.
My next trip is way too far away. Granted it is only 18 days away at the time of writing this, but still too far for me.
Viva Las Vegas… round two. This time it’s a family trip to see The Eagles playing at the MGM. It’s my first concert, so I am kinda super duper excited!
Sometime throughout the summer I am planning on going to Michigan to visit my bestie for her birthday. We will both be of legal drinking age by then. This time we can drink booze as we float down the river for four hours. And maybe I’ll remember to apply the sunscreen.
Another questionable trip this summer will be family vacation on the gulf coast, I think. My family is very last minute so, we may go somewhere else.
In August, I will have two weeks off school and I am planning on making the most of it. Spain, here I come! I’m hoping to get the opportunity to go to Portugal and Morocco while I’m there, but we shall see.
Later in August, classes start back up waayyyy too soon, but it won’t be long before I am off on another adventure and a geology field trip. This time it will be to the Black Hills in South Dakota. I am really excited to see Devil’s Tower in Wyoming and finally get to see Mount Rushmore.
Then it is back to hardcore classes until winter break and that is gonna suck! But at least I will finally be taking mineralogy. Even though it is going to be an immense amount of work, I am excited.
The for winter break, I am going to need a break from the cold and snow so what better to do that go on a Caribbean cruise. I’ve discovered that some of them can be quite cheap.
All in all, I am planning on going out with quite the bang, fireworks and all.
Are you planning on going out with a bang this year? Where are you going?
