20 Epic Photos of the American Southwest
I’ll be the first to admit that I have somewhat of a love affair going on with the Southwest. But let’s be honest here, with sights like these, who wouldn’t be in love with the region?
It all started years ago when Dad took my sister and me on a vacation to Lake Powell in northern Arizona. I was instantly in love! The next year Mom was able to join us and weย camped on Lake Powell in our rental power boat. Ever since I have been wanting to go back.
Two years ago for Spring Break I had the opportunity to visit Death Valley on a geology field trip. We met up in Vegas and I remembered why I loved the area so much. A couple months after the field trip, there was another family trip to see the Eagles in Vegas.
Finally, I was able to return to the area on my terms. I was 100% in control of the trip and got to see and do what I wanted. The 1,200+ miles that I drove was worth it, even if I do hate driving right now. After seeing it all and falling in love with it again – especially the winter temps! – I can see myself living in the area someday in the future.
